Synco is an AI-powered app that makes remote work fun and engaging. It simplifies onboarding, team collaboration, and keeps employees motivated with gamified, personalized experiences.
Our initial goal was to ease project management in organizations. So we began by conducting analysis to identify project management difficulties in remote workplaces.
We conducted a survey with 13 participants, an average age of 25, globally across Nigeria, Germany, Spain and the United States.
Their main painpoints were:
- Team collaboration
- Conflicts
- Slow onboarding
We interviewed 3 stakeholders leading teams across Nigeria, Germany and Spain.
From our findings, we discovered the key problems they faced:

Based on our research findings, we decided to focus more on improving the experience of new employees starting a new role at a remote company.
How might we streamline the onboarding process for new employees (of a mid-size organization who work in a remote work-setting) while reducing task conflicts and skill gaps between the team members? As a result they can accomplish their milestones with minimal interruptions in their workflows.
When a new employee signs in, Synco's AI assistant, Maxi, welcomes them and introduces the app's features.
The homepage features a Tasklist, Maxi-recommended resources, and Recognitions to enhance skills and boost productivity.
This Onboarding feature offers personalized AI-driven content tailored to the new employee's role and learning preferences.
The Meetup feature lets employees join groups with similar interests to socialize and easily connect with colleagues.
The Employee Review feature includes a conversation with Maxi, providing a more human, interactive, and informative review experience.
